Spring has sprung...

Yesterday was the first day of spring...it was snowing, hailing & raining in Spokane. It still was, in fact the first day of spring!!! 3 Craft Chicks is decorated and ready for spring so any day now is perfectly fine with me. I love spring...the newness...the freshness...the pastel colors...the longer days...that's one of my favorites!!!

Stop by Roost and see our 3 Craft Chicks SPRING set up!!!

Book garland with spring colored tissue paper ~ would look so pretty on a mantle or decorating an Easter dinner table...

So many pretties in this display ~ beautiful shoes, perfect chippy farm table and chair, vintage canisters and a gorgeous quilt that has all my favorite colors...turquoise, pink, lime green and yellow!

This set of pastel Pyrex mixing bowls is simply heavenly!!!

I heart these pretty polka dot lime green heels!!!
I WISH...I WISH...I WISH...
they were in my size!!!
Do you think if I wish hard enough it would help?

Do you think if I wish hard enough the weather outside would be "springlike"?

I'm going to try and I'll be sure to letcha know how that worked for me!!!

p.s. be sure to hop over to our 3 Craft Chicks facebook page and "like" us!!! :)

the STORY of the AWNINGS

Many of you probably recognize the wonderful awnings that we just placed in our spaces at Roost. I wanted to share the fun story of how we acquired them from Serena Thompson of Farm Chicks!

Last fall I remember seeing an ad on Craig's List for these wonderful awnings and wished I had a use for such magnificence & sweetness!!! She used the awnings on the outside of the building that held her Farm Chicks store at one point in time.

Well, as it happens, in January I did see a use for those sweetest awnings. So I emailed Serena and told her I knew it was a far fetched question ~ HAD THOSE AWNINGS SHE HAD FOR SALE ON CRAIG'S LIST SOLD?  I waited patiently for her response...NOT!!! {I'll readily admit I'm not always that patient}

She wrote back and said YES THEY WERE STILL AVAILABLE!!! She also said her husband would be so very grateful to whomever bought them because they were taking up room in their garage! :) With just starting my new business of 3 Craft Chicks I knew the budget may not allow for the awnings. Serena graciously allowed me to make payments! {That was so sweet of her}

I still had payments left when one day my sweetie told me he got alittle bonus at work and did I want to pay off my awnings and pick them up and get them up in Roost!!! OF COURSE I SAID YES!!!

We picked up the awnings and I was so beyond excited! They were even better than I had anticipated! I love when that happens!!! There are 7!!! YES I SAID 7!!! One very large one that Dena and Joy allowed us to hang in the main area of Roost to "cozy" it up and so far "we" {yes that means JIM} have 2 in our 3 Craft Chicks spaces. They are such a brilliant red and white and just gorgeous!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN to Serena for working with me on this whole purchase and
THANK YOU to my husband Jim for installing them!!!

p.s. I emailed Serena after we picked them up and asked if her hubby was glad to have them out of the garage. She wrote back and said YES and that she had not told him they were being picked up that particular day so he was very pleasantly surprised when she took him into their garage! This worked out VERY WELL for all involved!!!

{amazing} AWNINGS

So excited about our latest addition to 3 Craft Chicks. We bought these simply amazing awnings and they just make our spaces at Roost look complete!

I love the vibrant red and white stripe ~ just makes me HAPPY!!!

~ Over the door to Little Peeps Lane ~

~ Makes it look so inviting to 3 Craft Chicks area upstairs at Roost ~

Had an extra large awning so Roost is using out in the main part of the store
Just love how that one looks!!!

Sometimes it can be simple changes that add so much to our spaces and I am especially happy with these new additions.

I can't help but SMILE whenever I look at these AMAZING AWNINGS!!!

Want to thank my sweet husband Jim for hanging the awnings! I just don't know what I would do without him!!!

Fabulous Finds for 3 Craft Chicks

I just cannot believe how fast things are moving and changing for 3 Craft Chicks at Roost! This past Sunday, Jim and I went to a couple estate sales and found some great treasures to put in our space. Sometimes it is especially difficult to put a price tag on things as I just "LOVE IT".  I did put a tag on these because I just know someone out there will  "LOVE IT" as much or MORE than I do!!!

a circa 1960's Suzy Homemaker deluxe stove...

Can you believe this??? I just love this little jewel and can only imagine back in the late 60's and early 70's the little girls that had this on their Santa list. It's so darling and would love great in any vintage/retro style kitchen!!!

Next is this "Glam" Hamper...
This is absolutely fabulous!

You know where to go to see these gems and many more!!!

aDdItIoNs & cHaNgEs to our 3 Craft Chicks space...

I'm learning that in this business you have to be on your toes at all times! Things sell {which is a GOOD thing} however then it's time to move items around and add more items. I absolutely love every part of this. Over this past weekend some larger items sold ~ HIP HIP HOORAY ~ so it was one of those times to re-do the 3 Craft Chicks space at Roost!

Changed out our first display {which held Valentines stuff xoxo} to lots of pretty aqua, turquoise and a splash of pink! You know how I love me some PINK and TURQUOISE! There are some darling retro cannister sets and sweet pink and turquoise Pyrex! A girl can never have too much vintage Pyrex ~ wouldn't you agree?

Not just for Valentines...here's a mini "love" banner for sale!

An absolute FAVORITE of mine ~ Jim made this for our space. A simply sweet retro PINK suitcase made into an end table. Would be perfect for a guestroom as a nightstand for a lamp and storage for towels for guests and what not! Had a hard time not keeping this for my PINK guestroom!

Inside the suitcase ~ PINK & POLKA DOTS = PERFECT

Awfully blank you might say however that is because there are some big changes to coming to this area of our spaces! You'll have stay tuned as I will update and have it all ready over the next couple days!
Let's just say...this Craft chick is VERY excited!!!

This is another area of Roost that we have our wares in! We're adding to that continually so it's always changing!

Love this spool table Jim made for our space! It's even on wheels which makes it all the more useful!

Set of My Book House books ~ Volumes 1 through 12! I HEART books especially older ones with amazing graphics such as these! That's why sometimes it is hard for me to rip up books to make the garland and I get distracted reading pages from old books while making the garlands!!! :)

EXTRA large book garland ~ it is 850 pages long!

So...stop by...

because you'll make my
completely...HaPpY!!!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Latest creation for 3 Craft Chicks...

~vintage book garland wrapped around a wire heart~

Most of the paper creations in our space have sold so I went down and rearranged our space and put some vintage pieces in there. I need to pull an all nighter to get the handmade paper items restocked!

My life is revolving around 3 Craft Chicks right now...

and I must say I LOVE IT!!! I wake up thinking about it and what I'm going to make that day or how I can make our space better and then as I lay my head down on my pillow {at whatever time it may be} I'm again thinking of all those same things...

My daughter must do the same thing because I got a text from her the other night at 12:30 A>M> saying she had thought of cool slogan for Roost. I shared it with Dena and she loved it! I'll share that in a later post. Natalie is a tremendous help and part of  3 Craft Chicks. She is the best "picker"...last Sunday I got a phone call from her and she was at the thrift store and she found a game I was looking for and some very old golden books. When she brought them to me I was again pleasantly surprised at the books! She definitely knows exactly what to look for in an item!!! Tomarrow she will go with her dad and I to Roost and unload some more goods and help me situate my space some more. I just love having her so involved in all this!

This week I'm making Valentine gifts. It's one of my favorite holidays, in fact it is my daughter Lauren's most favorite! Even over Christmas! Lauren is going to Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School however in her spare time helps me make and craft some of the paper items we sell. She's so talented and again I'm just thankful for her added help and creativity!!!

I know I'm their mom...MY GIRLS ROCK! {just sayin'}

Here's a sample of a couple things I've made this week...

Scrabble tiles and burlap are the "HOT" thing right now so mixing the 2 is a sure win! {I hope}

I made this one for Dena and Joy ~ co owners of Roost

Thanks for all your support as we venturing into new territory...
scary yet oh so very exciting!!!

3 Craft Chicks...

These past couple weeks have been busy getting ready for my new venture! It's been exciting and exhausting! I think the next month will continue to be this way as we're busy making things and re purposing items and finding things we want to sell.
Our name is 3 Craft Chicks...love that! It is a family affair! Lauren makes paper crafts and Nat loves to go "picking" and help at the store where my space is. They both are naturals at all this. Jim is not in the name however he should be as he is the backbone of 3 Craft Chicks! Not only do I have the coolest last name because of him {hee hee} but he builds things and sees the vision I have for this business and just supports me more than I could ever imagine!

We will have a couple different areas at Roost...located at 7th and Main just across from Revival Lighting...for now we're working on a sweet little room and area on the first floor. Totally and completely love it! Jim and I went last Friday night and painted and starting setting up. I have a few things in there but will just keep adding more! There are paperbag scrapbooks, banners, repurposed handcrafted items and vintage items.

Getting started...Jim found some free pallets in the paper...
HOLD ON! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT WE HAVE UP OUR SLEEVES FOR THESE BABIES!

Painting my sweet little room...

Busy making projects...painting, sanding, gluing, hammering and just all sorts of fun stuff!!!

Jim did this so...

... I could make this...

my messy work area...
Wonder if I'm the only one that crafts and creates like this???

Items that are in my space at Roost...

I love this piece because it hosts pieces from different vendors at Roost! I bought the turquoise frame from Union and the beautiful vintage sheet music from Silver Suitcase and Dena co-owner of Roost gave me the feed sack. I added the rest and put it all together! It's for sale in my space if you want to stop by and take a look!

Paperbag scrapbook album...ready for photos and other treasures. There are pull outs and tags for journaling and lots of areas for pictures and pretty embellishment and of course glitter and ribbons...

Banners, Banners and more Banners...
A wonderful thing about the paperbag albums and banners that Lauren and I make is they can also be customized! Perfect for birthdays or showers...I'm in the process of making a banner for each one in my family so it can pulled out for their birthday or special day they need to be recognized! The banners fold up easily and I wrap mine in tissue paper to preserve them so I can just pull one out whenever I need it! :)

wonderful vintage window...
just brought in 2 more just like this today...they are absolutely beautiful and have so much character!!!

a very sweet white farm cabinet and some vintage enamalware...

I can tell how much my whole family is going to love this new adventure! I love how it is something that we can all do together!!!

Stay tuned for more details as we just continue to add to our selection.
