Love spur of the moment moments...

I was reminded once again why I love that mom lives just minutes from me...

This past week I was talking to my mom and asked what she was up to that day and she told me she wanted to go to the MAC Museum which is the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture to see the Impressionism Art Exhibit as it was there until the 19th. I asked if I could go...silly question right? Of course I could and she told me to get over quickly so we could begin our fun {unplanned} adventure for the day!!!

First we had a bite to eat at the wonderful Cafe there at the MAC and I would highly recommend it! We shared a most yummy Caesar salad and pita bread with humus and also a bowl of vegetable lentil soup!!! It was super duper tasty!!! {Just like grocery shopping when hungry you should not blog about food when hungry either...}

After lunch we went a tour of the Historic Campbell House!!! I can't believe in all my years of living here this was my first time!!! It was extraordinary!!! My mom has a membership so I can go back anytime I want!!!

Inside...on the tour...
I love this dinner menu ~ and I ESPECIALLY LOVE that the Walnut & Cream Cheese Sandwiches were to have their crust removed!!! A very important detail in my world!!! As many of you know, I'm rather spoiled by Jim and when he makes me a sandwich he cuts the crust off!!!

Their version of an intercom ~ they would laugh at us nowadays that we even use cell phones in the house as intercoms!!! Heehee!!!

This is my favorite room ~ The Calling Room ~
My pictures aren't the best because you can't use a flash inside the mansion!!!

The bedrooms were so beautiful...

and so was the dining room...

Can you even believe the inside of their car??? WOW!!!

We went into the MAC after our Campbell House tour and were both inspired and amazed by the Impressionism Art Exhibit!  The Renoir picture that is at the top of this post is one of my mom's favorites!!! It reminds her of my sister & me!!! There are other displays & exhibits going on also and it is absolutely phenomenal!!! If you live here in the Spokane area the MAC is definitely a destination worth going to!!!

OH! OH! OH! I almost forgot ~ one of my favorite parts of the day was as we were driving through the Brownes Addition to get to the museum we passed this most beautifully restored car ...
Isn't it a beauty???

TOES

A couple weeks ago I went to Sandpoint, Idaho to spend the night with my friend Jennifer. I met her in Spokane and followed her to her home...as we were going through Sandpoint she signaled to turn left and pointed to a thrift store. Of course I'm always up for some thrifting. WELL...attached to that shop is the Panhandle animal shelter. She asked if she could just {real quick} show me a cat that they have been looking at. We went into the CAT ROOM and she introduced me to TOES! He's the LARGEST cat I've ever seen in my whole life & he has 6 TOES on each paw!!! That's right!!! It's quite unbelievable!!! I'm not really a cat person however TOES came right up to me and wanted me to pet him. I kinda sorta thought he was a cool cat!!!

We then went back to the thrift shop side and did some shopping and all of sudden Jennifer grabbed my arm and declared that she HAD to go in and adopt TOES!!! I just kept shopping...and before you knew it she was the proud mommy to this most spectacular & unusual cat!!!

She pulled her van around and it was like going to the hospital to get a new little one...heehee...
Proud mommy & proud big brother Glenn Kelly...

The animal shelter prepared Jenn & went over many things to introduce Toes to his new home & environment! The funny thing was Toes knew he was HOME the moment he arrived as he just settled right in and you would have thought he lived there for years!!!

Glenn LOVES Toes ~ Toes LOVES Glenn

Another amazing feature of Toes are his BRIGHT blue eyes...

Jenn & I had a very "Lucy & Ethel" moment as we tried to weigh Toes...

Toes is one VERY LOVED cat!!!

SOOOOOO....I've decided that between these blue eyes

+

6 toes

Toes is most definitely supernatural!

L * O * V * E *

This is definitely one of those "a picture is worth a 1,000 words"...don't you agree?

Little Saylah Grace is such a sweet part of our family and we all just love her to pieces! She sure does love her Natnat!!!
I mean REALLY...why wouldn't she LOVE Natnat...they go outside to play and next thing I know she wheeling her around the backyard in the big wheelbarrow!!!

This little girl just melts my heart!!!

This is what I came home to tonight ~ I think I'm one LUCKY DUCKY!!!

She has an outfit & sandals on just like I would wear...heehee!!! I'm sure her mommy planned that!!!

I've said it before & I'll said it again...being an {ADOPTED} Nana is priceless!!! Thank you to her mommy, Samantha for sharing her with our family!!! :)

I could just eat these little piggies...

my May day baby GIRL ~ 20 years ago

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
Psalm 139:13

Today is my beautiful daughter Lauren Marissa's 20th Birthday! I can't even begin to know where the time has gone...I remember so vividly the day she came into this world.
~ The very moment they placed her in our arms...
she slipped into our hearts ~

There are not enough words to describe our precious daughter. She is such an amazing young woman and I'm so grateful to have her in my life. So many thoughts swirl through my mind as I write this...memories throughout the past 20 years...first and foremost though I want Lauren to know how very much I love her and how proud I am of her.

I can't even begin my life without Lauren Marissa Craft!!!

~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~

YOU ARE SO VERY LOVED!!!
