My life is revolving around 3 Craft Chicks right now...

and I must say I LOVE IT!!! I wake up thinking about it and what I'm going to make that day or how I can make our space better and then as I lay my head down on my pillow {at whatever time it may be} I'm again thinking of all those same things...

My daughter must do the same thing because I got a text from her the other night at 12:30 A>M> saying she had thought of cool slogan for Roost. I shared it with Dena and she loved it! I'll share that in a later post. Natalie is a tremendous help and part of  3 Craft Chicks. She is the best "picker"...last Sunday I got a phone call from her and she was at the thrift store and she found a game I was looking for and some very old golden books. When she brought them to me I was again pleasantly surprised at the books! She definitely knows exactly what to look for in an item!!! Tomarrow she will go with her dad and I to Roost and unload some more goods and help me situate my space some more. I just love having her so involved in all this!

This week I'm making Valentine gifts. It's one of my favorite holidays, in fact it is my daughter Lauren's most favorite! Even over Christmas! Lauren is going to Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School however in her spare time helps me make and craft some of the paper items we sell. She's so talented and again I'm just thankful for her added help and creativity!!!

I know I'm their mom...MY GIRLS ROCK! {just sayin'}

Here's a sample of a couple things I've made this week...

Scrabble tiles and burlap are the "HOT" thing right now so mixing the 2 is a sure win! {I hope}

I made this one for Dena and Joy ~ co owners of Roost

Thanks for all your support as we venturing into new territory...
scary yet oh so very exciting!!!

3 Craft Chicks...

These past couple weeks have been busy getting ready for my new venture! It's been exciting and exhausting! I think the next month will continue to be this way as we're busy making things and re purposing items and finding things we want to sell.
 Our name is 3 Craft Chicks...love that! It is a family affair! Lauren makes paper crafts and Nat loves to go "picking" and help at the store where my space is. They both are naturals at all this. Jim is not in the name however he should be as he is the backbone of 3 Craft Chicks! Not only do I have the coolest last name because of him {hee hee} but he builds things and sees the vision I have for this business and just supports me more than I could ever imagine!

We will have a couple different areas at Roost...located at 7th and Main just across from Revival Lighting...for now we're working on a sweet little room and area on the first floor. Totally and completely love it! Jim and I went last Friday night and painted and starting setting up. I have a few things in there but will just keep adding more! There are paperbag scrapbooks, banners, repurposed handcrafted items and vintage items.

Getting started...Jim found some free pallets in the paper...
HOLD ON! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT WE HAVE UP OUR SLEEVES FOR THESE BABIES!

Painting my sweet little room...

Busy making projects...painting, sanding, gluing, hammering and just all sorts of fun stuff!!!

Jim did this so...

... I could make this...

my messy work area...
Wonder if I'm the only one that crafts and creates like this???

Items that are in my space at Roost...

I love this piece because it hosts pieces from different vendors at Roost! I bought the turquoise frame from Union and the beautiful vintage sheet music from Silver Suitcase and Dena co-owner of Roost gave me the feed sack. I added the rest and put it all together! It's for sale in my space if you want to stop by and take a look!

 Paperbag scrapbook album...ready for photos and other treasures. There are pull outs and tags for journaling and lots of areas for pictures and pretty embellishment and of course glitter and ribbons...

Banners, Banners and more Banners...
A wonderful thing about the paperbag albums and banners that Lauren and I make is they can also be customized! Perfect for birthdays or showers...I'm in the process of making a banner for each one in my family so it can pulled out for their birthday or special day they need to be recognized! The banners fold up easily and I wrap mine in tissue paper to preserve them so I can just pull one out whenever I need it! :)

wonderful vintage window...
just brought in 2 more just like this today...they are absolutely beautiful and have so much character!!!

a very sweet white farm cabinet and some vintage enamalware...

I can tell how much my whole family is going to love this new adventure! I love how it is something that we can all do together!!!

Stay tuned for more details as we just continue to add to our selection.

A NEW VENTURE in a NEW YEAR...

I'm so very excited...a new year...a new venture...
let me tell you a little something about it...

Many of you know these past few months have held many adjustments after my client that I had cared for over the past 4 1/2 years went home to be with the Lord in August. I worked for Comfort Keepers and resigned after that as I needed a break...I had become so very attached to my sweet client and needed some healing time. I had been working my 40 plus hours a week on a pretty intense schedule so I could have consecutive days off and be home as much for my family. I worked Monday 4 p.m. till 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning and then Tuesday 4 p.m. till 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning and then every Saturday from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. It was a wonderful schedule although I do admit I was tired ALL the time! I worked very part time for Gymboree and do continue to do that. I enjoy that and love the all the ladies I work with.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being home more with my family and getting caught up on many things that have been kind of slacking over the past few years! :) There has been opportunity to work more in a sales lead position at Gymboree however I just didn't have a peace in my heart about that. I love making things...papercrafting...scrapbooking...thrift shopping...junking...decorating my home...so I'm most excited to say that I will be able to do something that includes all my favorite things! When I worked at a caregiver I so enjoyed my job that I didn't always feel like I was working. I wanted that again when I got a new job.

I saw on facebook that Roost {a favorite vintage & antique store of mine} expanded and was looking for a few vendors. I mentioned it to Jim and he thought I should check into it!!! I went down to the store and visited with Dena {co-owner of Roost} and she also thought it would be a good idea and great fit for me! So that's what I'll be doing...renting a space at Roost and I'm so very excited! I'll admit I'm just alittle nervous but my excitement is far outweighing any apprehension I have!

In my space I will have vintage items, re purposed items, handcrafted memory items.  It's going to be fun! I love vintage items and love the stories and history that go along with old things! I love making scrapbooking items to preserve priceless memories! I make paper bag scrapbook albums with lots of glitter, pretty embellishments and paper that are all ready for photos. I'm enjoying making banners and garland that can be personalized for any occasion. This will allow me to do all of my favorite things!  Today have dust from head to toe as I've been sanding some pieces to get them ready to paint. The funny part is the pieces I'm working on so far are from in my garage...things I've picked up at yard sales and thrift shops! Jim is really EXCITED about this part!!! Cleaning out the garage and some in our basement...see now there is a purpose for lots of the junk I've bought or even got free!!! I'll be posting pictures soon!

Another awesome aspect to this is we can do it as a family! I LOVE THAT! We have a name all picked out and logo drawn up...of course after Jim did research to make sure it wasn't already taken! Jim and I have already gone out "picking" of some free items he saw in the paper that I can re purpose and I'm so very excited about that! Natalie is going to help with "picking", re purposing things and hauling items and just all around everything and Lauren will be able to help in the papercrafting area. She is so talented and I'm blessed that my little sweet family wants to be a part of this venture.

Stay tuned for more details...I will letcha know when I'm all moved in to my space at Roost {which I'm hoping is this weekend} and when the open house/grand opening is as Roost is 3 times bigger than it originally was...that will be an event you won't want to miss!!!

Looking forward to what this new year of 2012 holds for the Craft family!

Friday with a FRIEND...

Last Friday my friend Cami had my mom and I and her aunt to her beautiful home for lunch and also so my mom could see all her Christmas decorations. It was such a wonderful afternoon...fun, fellowship & food...doesn't get any better than that!!!

Delicious...Chicken & Cheese Enchiladas...so so good!

It really is the best having my mom live here in Spokane now and be able to do things like this together! She thoroughly enjoyed going to Cami's and seeing all her decorations and especially loved looking at the view since Cami lives on the lake...

Oh how I love this sweet lady! Sharron...she is the niece of my client {CJH} I cared for and through the last few years Sharron and I became quite close.
It was wonderful to see her...

Sharron & Cami...sure do heart these 2 ladies!!!

This pretty pink vintage Christmas decoration was Cami's grandma's and it was always one of my favorites. The last time I was at Cami's for the Cousins Lunch this sleigh was being repaired...it's styrofoam and after 50 plus years it was falling apart. I'm glad she could fix it...don't you just love the pink flocked reindeer and the pink angel hair??? They don't make things like this anymore!!!

THANK YOU CAMI FOR SUCH A SPECIAL DAY TOGETHER...

MOM & ME

Do you even know how much I LOVE YOU MOM???

You are my moshie...
I am your girl...

FOREVER & ALWAYS...

a pretty PINK Christmas...CJH style...

My friend Kathy and I met when I began caring for her precious grandma over 5 years ago. Kathy was so involved in her grandma's life so I was blessed to become friends with her. We soon discovered we liked alot of the same things and shared a love for all things vintage especially vintage Christmas. Over the past year or so we started going to estate sales and vintage/antique shows together and just have a blast! This year I wanted to see her Christmas decorations because after her sweet grandma passed away she inherited many of her wonderful Christmas treasures! Kathy invited her cousin Cami {who has also become such a wonderful friend because of their grandma} and me for a scrumptious lunch and tour of the Christmas decorations!!!

It was so so so pretty!!!

 This is my favorite! Kathy's grandma always had a flocked Christmas tree and Kathy found this one that looked just like her grandma's just on a smaller scale. It now holds many treasured PINK ornaments from her grandma's tree. I loved seeing some of her grandma's PINK ornaments on this tree as I had helped decorate at her grandma's over the past few years. The neat thing too is her grandma took such meticulous care of her things and many ornaments are over 50 years old! Kathy has added some of her own vintage PINK to it too. All 5 grandchildren shared the family ornaments.
The felted PINK tree skirt was always one of my most favorites!!!

a very pretty PINK Christmas...CJH style...

Aren't these PINK angels just so wonderful???
{these are from the 1950's}

I found this pretty PINK vintage ornament and there was 3...
one for Kathy...
one for Cami...
one for me...
HOW PERFECT!!!

PINK tulle Christmas tree...LOVE {I want to learn to make these!}
I made Kathy the snow bowl...it has glitter that was her grandma's on the trees and sprinkled in the snow...

These next pictures are the absolutely amazing PINK Christmas tablecloth...
netting, tulle, pom poms, felt & sequins...does it get any prettier???

The prettiest stocking made by her grandma in the 1960's...
The display of grandchildren and great grandchildren stockings at CJH's home was quite spectacular. She made each one a stocking when they were born or married into the family. A total of 27 stockings hung in her home at Christmas.

The master bedroom is even decorated...
Kathy is my kinda girl!

These pictures look like out of a magazine or wonderful old Christmas movie...
Kathy's dad and Cami's mom with Santa at The Bon Marche in downtown Spokane in the late 1940's...

The main living room had the BIG...BIG...BIG...tree...
Oh...did I mention that it is BIG ???

Not only did we have a fantastic time seeing all her Christmas decorations, we ate a yummy lunch! Kathy made the most incredible sandwiches... grilled Havarti cheese, crab & guacamole ...it was DIVINE!!!

and Coke in the bottle...
Doesn't get much better than that!!! just sayin'
{loved the little crocheted holders that were from when they were little girls}

THANK YOU KATH FOR SUCH A SWEET DAY!!!
LOVED OUR TIME TOGETHER!!!
